TOTAL RECALL (2012) Movie Remake

Postby sledge » Wed Jun 27, 2012 9:28 am

Was a fan of the original film starring Arnie. This remakes looks good not sure if i will watch it at the cinema. :dontknow:

starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho, Bill Nighy - Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick.

I didn't watch this film at the cinema as it was a flop. I saw it on a site. Great Visual Effects but silly plot the actors are wasted in this film. Nothing beats the original film(still my favourite).

I didn't see the remake either. It's kind of easy to believe it was a flop, though. Total Recall is a sci-fi classic. In order to remake it, it would have to be done very well, with extreme fidelity to the original's plot. From what I understand, they changed the ending this time around.
"I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower
Makes you talk a little lower
About the things you could not show her."

Here in Australia it was quietly released direct to DVD I saw the bad reviews and it flopped overseas. I did Download a good copy off the web sometime ago and started watching it but haven't finished it yet(I fell asleep lol). I just found the scenario hard to swallow, the world has split into 2 factions actually Australia is one of them but called something else? there's been some kind of war and destruction (kind a of 1984?). The visual effects seems the only winner here.

I feel the original film starring Arnie is more believable and action oriented and Mars makes a good setting for dictatorship.
