Is Santorum Out of His F***ing Mind?

Postby Brian » Sun Feb 19, 2012 3:49 pm

No, seriously. Is he?

Look, I've voted Republican all my life, and I'm handicapped myself, but to be against prenatal screening, when that a) can save the lives of handicapped newborns, and b) can prepare parents for what they'll face, just seems completely backwards to me. It's putting newborns at risk, which is the one thing a pro-life person should be against.

Yes, I understand that a handicapped fetus can be selectively aborted because of a prenatal screening, but if you're pro-life, the problem is the abortion, not the prenatal screening.

:WTF: is the man thinking?!

I get the impression these god fearing Republicans are performing for their constituents. I'm just surprised that there are that many Americans that think this is a good way to govern. They all lost their minds when Michelle Obama suggesting eating healthier and getting a little exercise and here these guys are telling us how to run our lives and our bodies. Hypocrisy much?

To me, Michelle Obama doing that was a little bit like the "Just Say No" campaign that Nancy Reagan did. It's kind of the role that first ladies have been put in.

I think Santorum is vastly overestimating the number of people this kind of ideology appeals to. I consider myself pro-life, but this kind of nonsense is just reckless. I can't imagine anyone voting for him thinking he actually believes this. I certainly don't think he believes it, but just saying it is enough to make me vow never to vote for him.

So if he got the nomination, would you just stay home, Mill? I know how strongly you feel about Obama.

I hope he doesn't get it...But if that is the case I will have to vote for him....as bad as he may be, he is still a step up from what's in there now.

Ok...that settles it for me. If Mill won't vote for him he's a loon. Why are Republicans against birth control? Isn't family planning better than unwanted or neglected pregnancies?

Oh...umm...hi Mill and Brian! Long time no see! And Linnea...I laughed OUT LOUD for real at your signature! :rofl2:

Glad to see you back, Saint! :woo:

Hate to burst your bubble, but you should read further down in the thread re: whether Mill would vote for Santorum. ;)

I think "Republican" and "Democrat" are a hell of a lot wider terms than people give them credit for. It's the politicos that want people to think the other side is full of rabid morons.
