A CBM member claims to have met with an effects supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks to talk about the upcoming "Green Lantern" film. Here is what he was able to get:

* The leaked concept art of Kilowog, Abin Sur, Tomar-Re and the Guardians is real.

* The first trailer will be revealed during this year's Comic-Con International (July 21st - 25th), an entire year before the film's release.

* Teaser posters will begin showing up in theaters this fall. Warner Bros has been trying to make holographic designs.

* The budget for the film is over $200 million, before the Louisiana tax breaks.

* The Green Lantern power batteries are included in the film.

* Hal Jordan will wear the iconic mask in the film.

I have very high hopes for this.

I'm praying they won't make a mess of it.

The Doctor has spent the past 1000 years (give or take) traveling in his TARDIS (or Time And Relative Dimension In Space). He doesn't often leave his own universe, but occasionally, the TARDIS hits a bump in time and space and travels to an alternate world. After hitting one such bump, he travelled to Earth-5 in the DC Multiverse and came across Hal Jordan of that world. With Jordan's help, the Doctor was able to repair the TARDIS' function to travel through alternate dimensions, and he offered Jordan a trip to one of these worlds. The Doctor had Jordan select any number universe at random and he picked 9739. On arrival, both the Doctor and Jordan noticed that they couldn't see where the other was and grew increasingly perplexed. That's when he realized that they had merged. With his abundance of intelligence, he chose to remain merged as the Green Lantern! No, the Doctor! No, Green Lantern! Doctor! Lantern! Doctor! Lantern! Lantern! Doctor! So, Doctor it is.

entertainment tonight had a bunch of "clips" from the upcoming movie. and i am very, very sorry to say that i was not impressed. truth be told; i'm worried.
it was Reynolds "bouncing" around, doing his schpeel that he's done in every other movie.
i couldn't help but think, "it's Van Wilder at a costume party"

well. they went ahead and made it. i have seen several trailers and i gotta be honest... i am NOT excited.
Hal Jordan GL was the first comic book i ever picked up.
this movie, aside from the special effects, looks awful.
they've made Hal out to be a juvenile, womanizing, show-off. that's not Hal.

The special effects are pretty superb and extremely worthwhile to say the least, Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett do nothing of note playing cardboard characters with nothing to do but further the plot and add some cred to the cast. The viridian energy works in mysterious ways, and purposefully chooses the individuals that harness its powers.
