New Blade Runner Film

Postby sledge » Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:32 pm

Looks like a new sequel or a reboot 'Blade Runner' film will be definitely made as Ridley Scott has signed on as Director and Producer of the new film.

Back in March, it was revealed that Alcon Entertainment was securing rights to produce prequels and sequels to the 1982 sci-fi thriller "Blade Runner," which was directed by Ridley Scott and starred Harrison Ford.

At the time, producer Andrew Kosove (Insomnia) revealed that he would like to re-team with Christopher Nolan for the project, but his dream was for Scott to return to the franchise.

Now comes word that Scott has signed on to direct and produce "Blade Runner 2." It is unknown whether the film will be a prequel or a sequel. It's also unclear whether Ford will be involved, but the actor has expressed interest in the project last month.

This news comes as Scott is currently working on a prequel to "Alien," another sci-fi classic that he directed.

Also it will be a total new film with a new cast as Harrison Ford will not be returning as Deckard.
