The Value of a Good Backup

Postby Brian » Sun Mar 28, 2010 6:49 pm

Hi, Everyone.

As I was answering a question from a member on the board, I realized that I do, in fact, have the ability to retrieve some of the data from the old board, due to the backup I did of the directory structure. Specifically, I have all the old avatars from 24, and what looks to me like every emoticon the board ever had, and the banners for the old forums.

I've attached a zipped version of the images directory from the old board (with smilies and avatars) for your perusal.

Unfortunately, I don't know where the attachments are stored, but at least this is something.

If you can tell me where they are in the file structure, then we'll talk. :D

For some reason it gets my wife hot when I wear it. I don't ask questions about it, really.

The value of computer data is higher today than ever before. Anyone who has owned a computer for more than a few months will come to appreciate the value of backup at some point. There are lots of devices today which can really help you to secure your important data back up.
