Recruiting More Members

Postby Brian » Sun Dec 30, 2012 9:53 am

Hi, Everyone. :)

I'm hoping to turn over a new leaf in the new year, and pull more users into the forum. Anyone have any ideas? I've promoted on Facebook, and we got a few new members, but they don't seem to stay.

Ideas?? :)

Can try to get Karen, Criss back etc?
but they would probably want their own forum (maybe by invite only?)

how would having them back help 24 is the question?

more forums is not what is needed but to make those forums we have more alive and interesting

ok

what is needed is a well thought out plan with ideas from forum owners and members on how 24 should be redone

get their ideas and feelings, get a sense of what they want to see and not to see before anything else and go from there

that way you have ideas from a wide range of people and then pick out which would be good and such

then get with the forum owners and see how to make those plans come to life

this way we have some sort of guideline as to what is needed and what is not

I have some friends that do mostly dog adoptions, maybe they would be interested in running the pet forum? Not sure if Linnea would mind, she has not been here in 6 months?

i'd suggest trying to get hold of the forum owners and chat with them about this and see what they want done with their forums then if they don;t want it either delete or find new owners

as for new forums i'm not too keen on having 24 looking cluttered with new forums when we still have the old ones which aren't used

I think one thing we need to do, if we have new forums, is put them to a vote. What I want to avoid is having 100 new forums that are all someone's personal pet project, and then 99 of them go away if the person who wanted them loses interest. I want to have at least two people interested in a forum before I put it up to avoid that kind of situation.

Also, could we use screen names instead of real names whenever possible when talking about members? I don't remember the real names of some of our members, but I'll remember the screen names.
